My name is Shadi Joulani. I'm from Palestine and came here for study. I have got a scholarship for bachelor study in Information Technology and Engineering in Central South University.
Central South University (CSU), a national university and a key research hub in China, is composed of four extra large size campuses at four different locations in Changsha. Main campus is located at an attractive location right beside the southern part of Yuelu mountain. Well planned campus, impressive green surroundings and fresh air make me feel as close as I can get to nature in this era of rapid urbanization.
Many people wonder what kinds of life lead those people of different countries, cultures and colors… Right away I am going to try to share with you some of the mysteries encountered in that colorful world!
Recently, Professor Donald Wallace Pereira, a 73 years old foreign teacher in Central South University, took part in a tree-planting activity in Changsha as one of the experts honored with the 5th Hunan “Xiaoxiang Friendship Award” and he planted a magnolia there. He also said happily, “This is indeed of great significance. Even if one day I’d return to Australia, my Chinese sons and grandsons will keep on taking care of it for me.”
During the 3 years in China, I've appreciated many things and I've found China different from what I had thought before. China has opened up to different countries and you can find many foreigners there from different countries who come to China as students, business men, tourists and for other purposes. In my academic life, I appreciate our school because of the facilities it offers to facilitate our studies: we have all materials, rich library and access to the different publications which are good ways to share and increase our knowledge. The Chinese people especially Chinese students are very friendly.
