Application Fee

PLEASE BE REMINDED THAT YOUR APPLICATION WON'T BE PROCESSED BY THE SCHOOL UNLESS THE APPLICATION FEE IS PAID. YOU WILL GET THE CONFIRMATION LETTER FROM BOTH THE CUCAS APPLICATION SYSTEM AND THE SCHOOL UPON YOUR PAYMENT ARRIVES.

CUCAS offers four kinds of payment methods, and you would find your payment details when you doing application online.

1. PayPal: Payments made through Paypal are safe, easy and convenient. If you have used Paypal in the past, please click the PayPal button on the webpage of "Make Payment" and follow the directions.

2. Bank Transfer (T/T) Overseas: Applicants overseas can use bank transfer to pay the application fee in US Dollars.

3. Bank Transfer (T/T) in China: Applicants in China can use a direct bank transfer to pay the application fee in RMB.

4. Western Union: CUCAS recommends applicants who are inconvient with T/T or PayPal payments use Western Union (especially African applicants).

Application Materials

Make sure that you have prepared for the following documents before starting online application. You will be asked to upload attachments when applying.

Undergraduate Program

  1. Diploma and academic record in original or notarized copy in English or Chinese. Applicants, who are about to graduate, can submit a certification of upcoming graduation.
  2. Photocopy of HSK certificate.
  3. Applicants who want to be enrolled as a sophomore or junior in Chinese Language majors shall also submit the certificate of full-time Chinese training and academic record in original or notarized copy in English or Chinese.
  4. Photocopy of passport.
  5. One passport-sized photo.

★ Entrance Examination fee: RMB 300, only for the programs in Songjiang Campus.
★ If necessary, SISU will require applicants submit some additional materials.
★ Application fee is non-refundable. Checks are not acceptable.

MBA in English

  1. Diploma and academic record in original or notarized copy in English or Chinese.
  2. Inviting people who know you well, especially are familiar with your working ability to write the recommendation letters for you in English or Chinese.
  3. Business card
  4. Photocopy of passport.
  5. One passport-sized photo.
  6. Photocopy of company license (only for entrepreneurs)
  7. Other supporting documents (e.g., copies of professional certificates, awards and honors, English certificates)

★ If necessary, SISU will require applicants submit some additional materials.
★ Application fee is non-refundable. Checks are not acceptable.

Graduate Program

  1. Diploma and academic record in original or notarized copy in English or Chinese.
  2. Photocopy of HSK certificate or Chinese proficiency certification.
  3. Personal statement, about 1000 words, written in Chinese, which includes study and work experiences, research results and study plan.
  4. The index and abstract of published papers and any other materials to certify your research abilities.
  5. Two original recommendation letters from professor or associate professor in English or Chinese.
  6. Photocopy of passport.
  7. One passport-sized photo.

★ If necessary, SISU will require applicants submit some additional materials.
★ Application fee is non-refundable. Checks are not acceptable.

Language Programs

  1. Photocopy of diploma.
  2. Photocopy of passport.
  3. One passport-sized photo.

Short-term Students in Long-term Chinese Language Program

  1. Photocopy of diploma.

Intensive Chinese Language Program

Qualification and Other Admission Information

Undergraduate Program

1. Application Qualifications

Applicants should be Non-Chinese citizens, senior high school graduates, over 18 and under 40 years old, in good health, and with reliable financial support and custody.

2. Application Deadline

For the programs in Hongkou Campus by June 30 and for the programs in Songjiang Campus by May 15.

3. Length of Schooling

4 years; Admission only available in Fall Semester, opening in September.  The exact opening date is available in Acceptance Letter.

4. Chinese Proficiency Requirements and Entrance Examination

Programs in Hongkou Campus

1) Chinese Language majors require applicants have HSK grade 3 or have one semester's full-time Chinese training in Chinese university. Those, with HSK grade 5 and one year's full-time Chinese training in university, may be enrolled as a sophomore, and with HSK grade 6 and two years' full-time Chinese training in university, enrolled as a junior, after passing an Entrance Examination provided by College of International Cultural Exchange. The date of the Examination will be declared. 
2) International Business and Trade (Chinese) requires applicants have HSK grade 3.

Programs in Songjiang Campus require applicants have Chinese proficiency of HSK grade 6 or equivalence and pass Entrance Examinations in English, Chinese and Mathematics in Shanghai in early June. The exact examination date and place will be declared on May 20.

Graduate Program

1. Application Qualifications

1) Master's Degree:

Applicants shall be Non-Chinese citizens, university graduates with bachelor's degree, good Chinese proficiency which meets the requirements of degree courses; in good health; with reliable financial support and custody.

For MBA in English program:

  1. Academic Requirements: A bachelor's degree or above from recognized university
  2. A full-time work experience of three years or longer (Three years or more working experience is expected of bachelors from recognized universities; or Five years or more working experience is expected of three-year college graduates from recognized universities; or Two years or more working experience is expected of master or doctoral degree holders from recognized universities.)
  3. Proficiency in English

2) Doctor's Degree:

Applicants shall be Non-Chinese citizens, university graduates with master's degree, good Chinese proficiency which meets the requirements of degree courses; in good health; with reliable financial support and custody.

2. Application Deadline
May 20.

3. Length of Schooling

1) Master's Degree: 2.5 years.
2) Doctor's Degree: 3 years.

4. Entrance Examination

Entrance Examination includes written and oral test, is held in June.
The exact examination date will be declared on May 25. And please often check your emails.
The subjects of the Entrance Examination are listed in the Majors of SISU's Master's and Doctor's Degree Programs for International Students in 2009.

Chinese Language Program

1. Application Qualifications

Applicants should be Non-Chinese citizens, senior high school graduates, over 18 and under 50 years old, in good health, and with reliable financial support and custody.

2. Application Deadline

December 31 for Spring Semester and June 30 for Fall Semester.

3. Length of Schooling

Half a year up to 2 years. Every year has two semesters. Spring Semester opens in late February and Fall Semester opens in September. The exact opening date is available in Acceptance Letter.

Chinese Language Program (in the afternoon)

1. Application Qualifications

Applicants should be Non-Chinese citizens, senior high school graduates, over 18 and under 50 years old, in good health, and with reliable financial support and custody.

2. Minimum of Applicants

If there are over 15 applicants, the program will be opened.

3. Application Deadline

December 31 for Spring Semester and June 30 for Fall Semester.

4. Length of Schooling

Half a year up to 2 years. Every year has two semesters. Spring Semester opens in late February and Fall Semester opens in September. The exact opening date is available in Acceptance Letter.

Short-term Students in Long-term Chinese Language Program

1. Application Qualifications

Applicants should be Non-Chinese citizens, senior high school graduates, over 16 and under 60 years old, in good health, and with reliable financial support and custody.

2. Application Period

The application is accepted all over the year.

3. Length of Schooling

One to three months.
★ The teaching schedule is same as that of the Long-term Non-degree Chinese Language Program.

Intensive Chinese Language Program

1. Qualifications for Admission

Applicants should be Non-Chinese citizens, senior high school graduates, over 18 and under 50 years old, in good health, and with reliable financial support and custody.

2. Application Deadline

December 31 for Spring Semester and June 30 for Fall Semester.

3. Class Size

About 15 students per class.

4. Length of Schooling

This Program lasts half a year (one semester) or one year. Every year has two semesters. Spring Semester opens in late February and Fall Semester opens in September. The exact opening date is available in Acceptance Letter. There're 36 teaching hours per week.

Business Chinese

1. Qualifications for Admission

Applicants should be Non-Chinese citizens, senior high school graduates, over 18 and under 50 years old, in good health, and with reliable financial support and custody.

2. Minimum of Applicants

If there are over 15 applicants, the program will be opened.

5. Application Deadline

December 31 for Spring Semester and June 30 for Fall Semester.
The beginning, elementary and intermediate levels will start from the Spring Semester in February 2009, and the advanced level will start from the Fall Semester in September 2009.

4. Length of Schooling

This Program lasts half a year (one semester), one year or two years. Every year has two semesters. Spring Semester opens in late February and Fall Semester opens in September. The exact opening date is available in Acceptance Letter. There're 28 teaching hours per week.

Summer Chinese Language Program

1. Application Qualifications

Applicants should be Non-Chinese citizens, senior high school graduates, over 16 and under 60 years old, in good health, and with reliable financial support and custody.

2. Application period:

1) Summer Program has three sessions, respectively 4 weeks.

① Before May 20, applicant can get JW202 form and Acceptance Letter. 
② After May 20, applicant can get Acceptance Letter by fax or email but should apply for a tourist visa to China by himself.

2) Group application is welcomed and the courses and schedules may be varied according to the group's requirements. Please contact with the Office of International Student Affairs if you have any special requests.
