To create favorable environment for the study and life of international students, there are dormitories for international students on three campuses of SCU with people on duty 24 hours. The office of international students assigns special staff to manage the dormitories and help the students deal with problems in their life.

• Facilities in each dorm on Wangjiang campus: air-conditioner, TV set, furniture, telephone, bathroom, internet access; toilet, bathroom, laundry room, and kitchen on each floor for sharing; internet café in the dorms area (1 yuan/ hour), recreational rooms, pingpong tables, laundry room (self-paid)
   

• Facilities in dorms on Huaxi campus: air-conditioner, TV set (rental), furniture, telephone, bathroom, internet access; shared kitchen at each floor and hot water supply
   

Off-Campus Housing

According to some competent authorities regulations, foreign students who live in housing that has even approved as a legal residence for foreigners, To rent the illegal house, the protection of the law will not be obtained, But we suggest that they had better to apply off-campus housing after one semester, especially to those new students. As one semesters study and live in the campus, they can make familiar with local environment and communication ability can be improved greatly. Those students who wish off-campus housing should go to the local Police Station with your landlord to registry.

Application Procedure:

a. To make a contract with the landlord and obtain "permitting Certificate of House-Rent".

b. To fill the "the security Residence Registration Form for Alien's" at local police station.

c. To sign "The Security Responsibilities Agreement" between the landlord and the local police station.

d. To finish some paper work and change your old address on your Residence Card at Alien's Exit and Entry Administration Office of the Chengdu Municipal Public Security Bureau.

Facilities
The Overseas Students Apartment Building in Sichuan University has a housing capacity of about 300 guests. A single room is USD6.5 per day, equipped with a color TV set, furniture, washroom, telephone and air-conditioner. A double room is USD8.00 for two persons, which is similarly equipped as the single room.

Food
There are Overseas Students Dining Halls on campus, in addition to a number of dining halls for the Chinese students and teachers. It is up to the overseas students to choose where to dine. Food cost about USD80 per month in average.

Other Facilities
On the campus there are also a university hospital, post office, small shops, banking offices and telecommunication station, etc. offering a variety of conveniences to students. The University is located in the downtown of Chengdu with easy access to the Shuangliu International Airport and the Railway Station as well as all corners of the city.
