Why choose to study this program?

This program is taught in English, and all lecturers and professors in this program are specially trained for international students. It is started in 2002, and now there are more than 600 students stfrom Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, English, and the United States etc.

SDU is recognized by WHO and the graduates of MBBS program are eligible to take the Medical Licensing Examinations held by the medical councils in different countries such as MCI, PMDC, USMLE, HPCSA, SCHS etc.

Curriculum Introduction

The curriculum of this program is based on the British Commonwealth educational system. There are 37 required courses in total. All of the lectures, laboratory classes, exams and demonstrations are offered in English except the Chinese class.

Note: Every semester's curriculums will be adjusted according to the university arrangement at that time.

Internship

The internship is arranged in the final year and students can choose to do the internship/training in China, their home country or any other country.

SDU highly recommends international students to do the internship in China, the university would help students choose one from the affiliated hospitals. There are no requirements on HSK level before internship, but students have to pass the Chinese Language Proficiency Test held by the university. The tuition fee for internship in China is RMB 41,000 and students will live in the university for the affiliated hospitals are not far away.

The School hosts 8 affiliated hospitals, all of which are large comprehensive hospitals of top level in China. They have a total of 7,682 beds.

However, if students want to do the internship in other country, SDU need to do an qualification evaluation on the hospital which student choose and there’s no need to pay for the tuition fee.

Students also need to take the final examination on Theory Test and Clinical Evaluation in SDU before graduation.

Fee Structure

• Application Fee: RMB 410
• Tuition Fee: RMB 41,000 per year
• Accommodation Fee: 9,000 RMB /year (double room); 10,800 RMB /year (single room)
• Insurance Fee: RMB 600 per year/year (the university will pay 400 and students will pay 200)
• Visa Fee: RMB 1000 (400RMB for a year)
• Physical Examination Fee: Around RMB 500
• Text Book Fee: Around RMB 1000
• Cost of Living: RMB1, 000-2,000/month
• In Total: RMB 55,000 for one year 

Diploma Awarded

MBBS Degree: upon graduation, students need to pass the HSK 3 (New HSK 4) to get the diploma.
On completing the requirements of the teaching program and passing the graduation examinations successfully, international medical undergraduates will be granted a graduation certificate and conferred a medical degree by the SDU, if they meet the degree regulations of the university. The English copy of the degree will state MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery).

After obtaining MBBS Degree, the graduates can apply to take the medical licensing examination in the medical council in order to get registered and practice medicine. According to the regulations in different countries, the students may need to do the degree accreditation first. A MBBS degree holder can find jobs in government as well as private hospitals, nursing homes and other health facilities. Except this, one can also start his own clinic or pursue study for master’s degree.

No Chinese-citizen with foreign passport.
Having the diploma of senior high school or above.
With a good health and the age above 18.

1. Health certificate
   Photocopy of notarized foreigner physical examination record (for durations of study over 6 months)

2. Photocopy of valid passport
   With name, passport number & expiration date, and photo included
3. Passport photo
   A recent passport-sized photo of the applicant
4. High school academic transcript
5. High school graduate certificate
   Graduation certificate in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization.
6. A photocopy of the pre-medical (FSc.) certificate
   Needed only for Pakistan students.
7. Financial guarantee letter from parents
   Photocopy of the financial support statement with signature
8. Photocopies of parents' passport or identification documents
   For example, photocopy of ID card, photocopy of passport, etc.
