Important Reminding Before Doing Application Online

Please make sure you have well prepared scan or photo copies of the following required documents and be aware of the alternative ways to pay for application fee.

Application Fee

PLEASE BE REMINDED THAT YOUR APPLICATION WON'T BE PROCESSED BY THE SCHOOL UNLESS THE APPLICATION FEE IS PAID. YOU WILL GET THE CONFIRMATION LETTER FROM BOTH THE CUCAS APPLICATION SYSTEM AND THE SCHOOL UPON YOUR PAYMENT ARRIVES.

CUCAS offers four kinds of payment methods, and you would find your payment details when you doing application online.

1. PayPal: Payments made through Paypal are safe, easy and convenient. If you have used Paypal in the past, please click the PayPal button on the webpage of "Make Payment" and follow the directions.

2. Bank Transfer (T/T) Overseas: Applicants overseas can use bank transfer to pay the application fee in US Dollars.

3. Bank Transfer (T/T) in China: Applicants in China can use a direct bank transfer to pay the application fee in RMB.

4. Western Union: CUCAS recommends applicants who are inconvient with T/T or PayPal payments use Western Union (especially African applicants).

Application Materials

1. Non-degree Students

• Academic diploma: A copy of the applicant's latest academic diploma or confirmation of enrollment in high school or university.
• A copy of the applicant's passport  (the page with applicant's photo)
• One passport-sized photo

2. Degree Students
• Academic diploma: A copy of the applicant's latest academic diploma or confirmation of enrollment in high school or university.
• Academic record: The notarized copy of the academic records.
• Two recommendation/reference letters if applying for doctoral program.
• A copy of the applicant's passport (the page with applicant's photo).    
• Corresponding HSK (Chinese Language Proficiency) certificate
• One passport-sized photo

3. More documents are required for those who are studying in another Chinese institution
• A stamped approval letter from the Foreign Students' Office of the current university.
• A copy of the valid visa or Residence Permit in China.

Enrollment Requirements

Applicants should be foreigners, healthy, friendly towards China and Chinese people, above 16 years old (if below 16, should be accompanied by a valid guardian), and willing to abide by the rules and laws of China and the regulations of Shandong Normal University. See below for more details:

Category of Students	Enrollment Requirements
Chinese Language	Anyone interested in studying Chinese language and culture.
Undergraduate	Anyone with a diploma equivalent to the high school diploma in China and HSK of Level 3.
Master's Degree	Anyone with a diploma equivalent to the bachelor degree in China, HSK of Level 6. And he needs pass the entrance exams of two or three core courses.
Doctoral Degree	Anyone with a diploma equivalent to the master degree in China, HSK of Level 6. And he needs pass the entrance exams of two or three core courses.

Course Info. and Application Deadline

Degree Programs
Starts from September while ends in mid-July; Mid-January to end of Feburary is for Winter Vacation while Mid-July to end of August for Summer Vacation
Application Deadline: June 30

Long-term Chinese Language and Culture
Starts from every March and September;
Offering courses in classes of small size according to Chinese levels of students.
Application Deadline: June 30 for Autumn semester; January 1 for Spring semester

Short-term Chinese Language and Culture
Courses offered with the minimum of 10 students;
Further negotiations on courses and other special arrangements can be carried out for groups over 10 people.
Application Deadline: At least two months before the course.
