On May 15th, the third “Chinese Bridge” preliminary competition of Liaoning area, was concluded satisfactorily in Dalian University of Technology. It was sponsored by CCTV and Confucius Institute headquarters, undertaken by CCTV overseas programs center, and co-sponsored by Dalian University of Technology.

There were 45 competitors from 21 nations respectively participating in written test, oral test and talent show etc. The contest judges were deeply impressed by the competitors’ Chinese level, understanding of Chinese culture and Confucian culture, and exquisite talent show. Finally, there were six competitors promoted to enter the second round, including two competitors of our university who will go to Beijing for the second round in August.

“Chinese Bridge” contest has been successfully hosted twice, showed 230,000 foreign students’ learning outcomes in China, and obtained high praise from the present universities and international students. This preliminary contest improved our university’s reputation for cultivating international students, provided a platform of mutual learning Chinese and Chinese culture for international students, and set up a Chinese-medium bridge between China and the world.
