There are prelimanary tests and reexamination subjects.Preliminary tests include political theory, Japanese, English, sketch and fine arts history, professional drawing etc.
Reexamination subjects include creation, calligraphy and interview.

- Foreign citizen;
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education;
- Under 40 years;
- HSK 6 certificate for major in Painting, Sculpture, Design, and Architecture or HSK 8 certificate for major in Art Theory;
- Virtue and good heath.

Personal color photos without headwear. - Undergraduate school transcript
- Bachelor's degree diploma
Graduation certificate in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization. - Photocopy of valid visa or residence permit
Only for applicants in China now. - Photocopies of personal artwork
8 pictures (7 inch color printed photos) and 1 thesis for applying the major in Chinese Painting, Engraving, Sculpture, mural painting, research of modeling foundation, Design in School of Design, and majors in School of Architecture. - Other materials
Major in Oil Painting:8 photos of creative works, oil painting works and sketch works (7 inch color printed) and 1 thesis for applying the ；Any major in School of Experimental Art:8 pictures (7 inch color printed photos) and 1 Creation Program. - Copy of article or papers published
1 thesis or 1 translation work for applying the major in research of Histories of art and Design. 1 relevant thesis for applying the any major in School of Humanities.
