Important Reminding Before Doing Application Online

Please make sure you have well prepared scan or photo copies of the following required documents and be aware of the alternative ways to pay for application fee.

Application Fee

PLEASE BE REMINDED THAT YOUR APPLICATION WON’T BE PROCESSED BY THE SCHOOL UNLESS THE APPLICATION FEE IS PAID. YOU WILL GET THE CONFIRMATION LETTER FROM BOTH THE CUCAS APPLICATION SYSTEM AND THE SCHOOL UPON YOUR PAYMENT ARRIVES.

CUCAS offers four kinds of payment methods, and you would find your payment details when you doing application online.

1. PayPal: Payments made through Paypal are safe, easy and convenient. If you have used Paypal in the past, please click the PayPal button on the webpage of "Make Payment" and follow the directions.
2. Bank Transfer (T/T) Overseas: Applicants overseas can use bank transfer to pay the application fee in US Dollars.
3. Bank Transfer (T/T) in China: Applicants in China can use a direct bank transfer to pay the application fee in RMB.
4. Western Union: CUCAS recommends applicants who are inconvient with T/T or PayPal payments use Western Union (especially African applicants).

Note:

1. Before applying for the degree program (bachelor degree program, master degree program and doctoral degree program), please first confirm that whether your Alma Mater have any cooperation with Shanghai university of finance and economics.

2. If you want to have the bachelor's degree course, please apply for foundation program to study Chinese for one year.

Foundation Program
18 years old or above and below 45 years old, high school graduate or above, HSK level 3, healthy foreigners

Business Chinese Program
18 years old or above and below 60 years old, healthy foreigners

Chinese Language Program
18 years old or above and below 60 years old, healthy foreigners

General Advanced Programs
18-60 years old, healthy foreigners, senior high school graduate or above

Senior Advanced Program:
18-60 years old, healthy foreigners, bachelor degree or above

Undergraduate Program Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (Economic and Trade Direction)
18 years old or above and below 45 years old, high school graduate or above, healthy foreigners

Undergraduate Program
18 years old or above and below 45 years old, high school graduate or above, HSK level 6, healthy foreigners

English-taught International Finance (Master & Doctor Program )
Master: 18-45 years' old, university graduates with bachelor's degree, healthy foreigners, above 550(paper based) and 80(computer based) in TOFEL or 6.5 in IELTS
Doctor: 18-45 years' old, university graduates with master's degree, healthy foreigners, above 550(paper based) and 80(computer based) or 6.5 in IELTS

Graduate Program
Master: 18 years old or above and below 45 years old, university graduates with bachelor’s degree, healthy foreigners, HSK Grade 7
Ph.D: 18 years old or above and below 45 years old, university graduates with master’s degree, healthy foreigners, HSK Grade

Application Materials

Make sure that you have prepared for the following documents before starting online application. You will be asked to upload attachments when applying.

Foundation Program
1. One photocopy of valid passport
2. One photocopy of Senior high school diploma and one original academic record (or notarized copy) in English or Chinese.
3. Two photocopies of HSK certificate
4. One passport-sized photo

Business Chinese Program
1. Photocopy of valid passport
2. Application fee: $65
3. One passport-sized photo

Chinese Language Program
1. Photocopy of valid passport
2. One passport-sized photo

Undergraduate Program Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (Economic and Trade Direction)
1. One photocopy of valid passport
2. One photocopy of Senior high school diploma and one original academic record (or notarized copy) in English or Chinese
3. Awards certificate (if have)
4. One passport-sized photo

Undergraduate Program
1. One photocopy of valid passport
2. One photocopy of Senior high school diploma and one original academic record (or notarized copy) in English or Chinese
3. Two photocopies of HSK certificate.
4. Personal Statement (in Chinese and within 300 words, the content include self-introduction, study experience and plan, hobbies etc.)
5. Two recommendation letter of high school students (in Chinese or English)
6. Awards certificate (if have)
7. One passport-sized photo

English-taught International Finance (Master & Doctor Program )
1. Photocopy of valid passport
2. Diploma and degree, related transcripts (original or notarized version, in notarized Chinese or English translation). For those who are about to graduate, a certification of expected graduation is also acceptable.
3. Photocopy of TOFEL or IELTS
4. Personal statement, written in Chinese or in English, which includes study and work experiences, research results and study plan
4. Recommendation Letters in Chinese or English from two professors or associate professors
5. One passport-sized photo

Graduate Program
1. One photocopy of valid passport
2. Diploma and degree, related transcripts (original or notarized version, in notarized Chinese or English translation). For those who are about to graduate, a certification of expected graduation is also acceptable.
