Important Reminding Before Doing Application Online

Please make sure you have well prepared scan or photo copies of the following required documents and be aware of the alternative ways to pay for application fee.

Application Fee

PLEASE BE REMINDED THAT YOUR APPLICATION WON'T BE PROCESSED BY THE SCHOOL UNLESS THE APPLICATION FEE IS PAID. YOU WILL GET THE CONFIRMATION LETTER FROM BOTH THE CUCAS APPLICATION SYSTEM AND THE SCHOOL UPON YOUR PAYMENT ARRIVES.

CUCAS offers four kinds of payment methods, and you would find  your payment details when you doing application online.

1. PayPal: Payments made through Paypal are safe, easy and convenient. If you have used Paypal in the past, please click the PayPal button on the webpage of "Make Payment" and follow the directions.

2. Bank Transfer (T/T) Overseas: Applicants overseas can use bank transfer to pay the application fee in US Dollars.

3. Bank Transfer (T/T) in China: Applicants in China can use a direct bank transfer to pay the application fee in RMB.

4. Western Union: CUCAS recommends applicants who are inconvient with T/T or PayPal payments use Western Union (especially African applicants).

Application Requirements

Any foreigners who present health certificates and other necessary documents concerning their academic achievement can apply to study at CUPL.

Applicants for Undergraduate Program are required to have a schooling equivalent to or higher than that for a Chinese senior middle school graduate and must have HSK Band 5(or higher) Certificates. Those who have no HSK Band 5 Certificates should pass the University (CUPL) Chinese language entrance examination for undergraduate program. Applicants who could not pass the examination can register to study Pre-course.

Applicants for Postgraduate Programs are required to have a Bachelor’s degree, age under 40, and have passed the required examinations.

Applicants for Doctorate Programs are required to have a Master’s degree or equivalent degree (6 years or above after obtaining the Bachelor degree ), age under 45, and have passed the required examinations.

Language Course & Pre-study Program

1. One passport-sized photo
2. Photocopy of passport

Bachelor's Degree Program

1. One passport-sized photo
2. Photocopy of passport
3. A copy of the visa page with the date of entry into China
4. Copy of high school graduation certificate
5. Copy of high school transcripts
6. Copy of HSK level 5 or above certificate

Master's Degree Program

1. One passport-sized photo
2. A copy of the visa page with the date of entry into China
3. Copy of HSK level 5 or above certificate
4. Degree certificate documents (fresh graduates provide certificates of expected graduation) should be Chinese or English originals or notarized copies.
5. Offical transcripts of the graduation university: Chinese or English originals or notarized copies.
6. Personal statement (including research plan) written in Chinese or English: about 800 words for foreign students applying for master-degree education.
7. Recommendation from two professors or associate professors (or two persons with equivalent academic background).
8. Copy of the passport; the passport must be valid ordinary passport.
9. Individual research achievement, contents and summaries of published academic articles and other original research achievement.
10. Other assisted application materials for themselves.

All the above documents, except the recommendation, should be submitted: including both originals and copies.

Doctoral Degree Program

1. Degree certificate documents (fresh graduates provide certificates of expected graduation) should be Chinese or English originals or notarized copies.
2. Offical transcripts of the graduation university: Chinese or English originals or notarized copies.
3. Personal statement (including research plan) written in Chinese or English: about 1500 words for foreign students applying for doctorate education.
4. Recommendation from two professors or associate professors (or two persons with equivalent academic background).
5. Certificate of HSK Level 6.
6. Copy of the passport; the passport must be valid ordinary passport.
7. One passport-sized photo
8. Individual research achievement, contents and summaries of published academic articles and other original research achievement.
9. Other assisted application materials for themselves.

All the above documents, except the recommendation, should be submitted: including both originals and copies..

Application for visa

Applicants who are accepted to study at CUPL can apply to the Chinese Embassy or consulates in their country or region for visa X with Visa Application Form for Foreigners Wishing to Study in China (JW202) and an admission letter provided by CUPL.
