I believe that Chengdu is a better representation of China. It has the tall buildings with the big lights downtown and it has the less developed areas common in China. Also, people are so much friendlier and laidback in Chengdu.

 

Our teacher Deng Fan was highly trained and you could tell.  She knew what she wanted to teach and had a strict lesson plan to follow.  When some of the other kids would act up she had no time for it and made sure made sure the class followed her instructions.  She was very helpful and one of the students who had trouble with Chinese, she helped after class.  She was a great teacher and I'm quite sad she's not my teacher in Beijing.  She was helpful, and she knew what she was doing.  On a scale from 1-10 I would give her a 10.  I could feel myself learning in her class.  Great instruction.

 

Basically all of the staff was amazing and nice.  Two of the chinese teachers took me with others out a couple of times.  So there was high interaction between teachers and students which is great.

 

The dorms were good and I enjoyed having a roommate.

 

The faculty is very generous and always working to help the students.

 

The Southwest University of Finance and Economics is one of the most beautiful campuses. Yuccas, willows, and zinnias garnish this vast campus. Money has obviously been thrown around here - demonstrated most recently by the brand new arena and indoor sports complex.
