Important Reminding Before Doing Application Online
Please make sure you have well prepared scan or photo copies of the following required documents and be aware of the alternative ways to pay for application fee.
Application Fee
PLEASE BE REMINDED THAT YOUR APPLICATION WON'T BE PROCESSED BY THE SCHOOL UNLESS THE APPLICATION FEE IS PAID. YOU WILL GET THE CONFIRMATION LETTER FROM BOTH THE CUCAS APPLICATION SYSTEM AND THE SCHOOL UPON YOUR PAYMENT ARRIVES.
CUCAS offers four kinds of payment methods, and you would find your payment details when you doing application online.
1. PayPal: Payments made through Paypal are safe, easy and convenient. If you have used Paypal in the past, please click the PayPal button on the webpage of "Make Payment" and follow the directions.
2. Bank Transfer (T/T) Overseas: Applicants overseas can use bank transfer to pay the application fee in US Dollars.
3. Bank Transfer (T/T) in China: Applicants in China can use a direct bank transfer to pay the application fee in RMB.
4. Western Union: CUCAS recommends applicants who are inconvient with T/T or PayPal payments use Western Union (especially African applicants).
Application Requirements
Undergraduate students:
1. Between 18 and 40 years of age; high school diploma or higher academic degree certificate; average grade of B or higher.
2. HSK level requirements:
*Original six or above or new HSK level 5 (with 180 points or more) for liberal arts applicants.
*Original three or above or new HSK level 4 (with 180 points or more) for science applicants (six or above for applicants for psychology, economics and information).
*Three or above for applicants to the Chinese Language Program designed for international students. Those whose HSK level is below the requirement but who have received at least 300 hours training of the Chinese language may apply for the Trial Undergraduate Program.
3. Entrance Examination: No Examinations, but applicants' required materials must be verified. Applicants who apply for foreign languages, arts and science need to undergo interviews or related examinations in the applied fields.
Graduate students:
1. Applicants for the Master's Degree program should have at least a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
2. Applicants for the PhD program should have at least a Master's Degree or equivalent.
3. Duration of study
The duration of study for graduate students (both Master's and PhD program) is three years.
Those who cannot graduate in time may prolong their studies for up to 2 years.
During the extension period, students who fail to finish a thesis must pay tuition of RMB 4200 yuan for each semester, and if they fail to finish their courses, they must pay tuition for the extension period according to the tuition standard.
Students who have finished all their courses ahead of schedule may apply for early graduation on the condition that three years' tuition is paid.
Non-degree Chinese Language Student
1. Aged between 18 and 45; high school certificate or higher cademic degree.

Notes:
* All required materials must be originals except for those listed as special requirements;
* All required materials must be in Chinese or English;
* The application fee is non-refundable and the application materials will not be returned.
Placement Test
All the language students, undergraduates (including probationer) in College of Chinese Language and Culture are required to attend a placement test after registration. The concrete time for each student will be noticed on the invitation letter upon registration.
The placement test results will be posted on the notice board of each international students apartment.

About Physical Examination
1. The students who study only for one semester generally need not take the physical examination. You can consult whether you need the “Physical Examination Record for Foreigner” or not with the Chinese embassy in your country.
2. The students who study for one academic year or more must take the physical examination. Those who have got the resident permit needn’t take again except for those who have the resident permit but under 18 years old.
3. Students who have taken the physical examination overseas should verify the results (the original one) in Beijing International Travel Healthcare Center with RMB 60 of verification fee.
4. About “Physical Examination Record for Foreigner”
Please pay attention to the following points:
1) The original “Physical Examination Record for Foreigner” is requested;
2) The valid period of “Physical Examination Record for Foreigner” is six months.
3) The original record should stick one photo on the right side with a hospital seal upon it.
4) There should be a doctor’s signature and date at the end of the record together with a hospital seal.
5) If you need copy the "Physical Examination Record for Foreigner" , please print two sides in one paper (Don’t print the record in two separate pieces of paper);
6) Your original blood lab reports for AIDS, Syphilis, ECG report, X-ray report should be attached to the record.
5. Please bring the following materials when taking the physical examination or verifying the examination results in China.
1) “Admission Notice” or student ID card
2) the copy of passport
3) two passport-sized photos
4) the complete original reports of physical examination taken in your own country
5) around RMB 400 yuan for physical examination or RMB 60 yuan of verification fee.
