Top↑Program Description

Tuition: One semester: 12400 RMB        One year: 24000RMB

It aims at training overseas students with a high Chinese level, a deep understanding of Chinese culture and modern Chinese society. After graduation, they will be qualified for overseas primary –level Chinese teaching and will have enough language competence to study for Master’s Degree. Moreover, they will be highly competitive in various jobs using Chinese. The duration of study is four years. In the first two years, language skill courses are offered to improve students’ listening, speaking, reading and writing abilities. In the third and fourth year, many professional courses such as Modern Chinese, Ancient Chinese and Chinese Literature are offered with a large number of optional courses for students to choose from. Up to now, over 400 undergraduates from over 10 countries such as Korea , Japan , Russia and the United States have graduated from the College of Chinese Language and Culture.

Notes: 1. The duration of study for undergraduate students is four years. In the event that a student cannot graduate on time, studies may be prolonged for up to 2 years. Students who finish all their courses ahead of schedule may apply for early graduation on the condition that their duration of undergraduate study in BNU is no less than three years. However, they are still required to pay four years’ tuition.

2. The trial period for undergraduate probation students is one year. Successful applicants study as trail students for one year with the same courses and tuition standard as normal international undergraduate students. During the trail period, if the students obtain HSK level-three or above certificate and pass every course, their credit in trial period will be acknowledged; if not, they will complete their study as language students.

3. The study duration for transfer students is three years. Students should study for at least two and a half years and need to pay three years’ tuition.

4. A bachelor’s degree will be conferred on students who have got graduation qualifications and have HSK level-9 or above certificate.

Between 18 and 40 years of age; high school diploma or higher academic degree certificate; good grades

Note: Applicants under the age of 18 should submit original guardian notarizations in triplicate issued by Beijing Notary Public Office.

    With name, passport number & expiration date, and photo included
  3. Passport photo
    A recent passport-sized photo of the applicant
  4. High school academic transcript
  5. High school graduate certificate
    Graduation certificate in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization.
  6. Two letters of recommendation
    From professor or associate professor or equivalents
  7. Letter of guarantee
    The guardian should write out his/her name, nationality, occupation and address (if an organization acts as the guardian, reference to the organization should be made clear).

  8. Permission from the previous university for tranfer students
    A student who has studied in China and wants to transfer to another university must provide the permission from original university.
