Meeting and greetings

The Overseas Student Section of the University will arrange to have you met at the airport if you fax your arrival date, time and flight number in advance. However, you must bear the cost of transport from the airport to the University yourself. A taxi from the airport to the university costs about 60RMB. It is also to get to the university by bus, taking bus No. 27 or No. 37 to the railway station, and then changing to the No. 1, or No. 21 to the University.

Student insurance
In order to ensure the health and safety of overseas students and in line with relevant Chinese government and Xiamen University regulations, at the time of their registration, enrolled students must submit to the Admissions Office an original certificate of medical and accident al insurance issued prior to their arrival in China.
In the absence of such a certificate, they will be required to purchase Foreign Student Insurance cover as offered by the Ping’An Insurance Company of China or other insurance companies, at a cost of 600 RMB per year. This covers any expenses incurred for medical services, hospitalization and accidental injury. Overseas students cannot register without such insurance.
