College of International Business (hereafter CIB) is a secondary college of Shenyang Normal University. It is Sino-American co-operative educational organization approved by Liaoning Provincial Educational Bureau and thus Shenyang Normal University becomes the first school of higher education in Liaoning, after approval of the National Degree Commission, which can issue the foreign degree of Commerce in China. China and America adopt the way of admitting mutual credits. After the students finish the necessary credits, they can both get the Bachelor's Degree of Shenyang Normal University and the Bachelor's Degree of Fort Hays State University, U.S.A.. The American degree acquired by students is the same as the one obtained in America, which is recognized not only by Chinese and American governments, but also by the whole world. The cooperative educational program has been now put on records in Chinese Study-abroad Service Centre.

The majors of CIB in 2004 include Marketing, International Economy and Trade, International Finance and International Law. By way of conforming to the international rule, there will appear advanced talents of pioneering, practical, composite and international type, majored in commerce, trade, law and management, with perfect English, up-to-date knowledge, imagination and competent practice.

Program Advantages

Hot Major and Promising Job Opportunity. The program meets the demand of many foreign enterprises, after the accession to WTO, making their entry into China and the process of Chinese enterprises' internationalization, which will ensure a broad job opportunity.

Proper Sino-American Teaching Plan. The program appropriately integrates the international educational resources, and merge the mutual educational characteristics. The courses with 30 credits related to economy, humanities, art, management and so on are taught by American college teachers.

Abundant Teachers. The faculty of CIB is young, with high degree and plentiful practical experience, of whom 26% are doctors (including those who are now studying) and 20% are educated abroad.

Internationalized Language and Specialty Study Environment. CIB is equipped with many foreign teachers involved in teaching language and many sent by its US counterpart. Students study in small-size classes, with English amounting to 14 classes per week. The Integration of Degree Education and International Vocational Education. CIB will recruit staff of export sales, customs clerks and lawyers who are closely related to its majors and introduce many international certificate training of vocational qualifications such as ACCA, CGA, LCCI, which will not only improved the students' ability to apply their knowledge in reality, but also help students to be more competitive in the future international job market.

Convenient Access to Further Education. When the students get the American Bachelor's Degree, they can attend the postgraduate study in China with prominent merits in English. If they want to apply to study for Master's Degree in America or other English-speaking countries, they will gain a priority in the issue of visas.

Diverse Educational Forms. The students who sit the national entrance examination will become a student of Shenyang Normal University if they get the necessary mark for enrollment, and meanwhile they can apply to register in US university. After graduation, they can get two Bachelor's Degrees of Shenyang Normal University and Fort Hays State University. These students are called Commonly Recruited Students.

The students who graduated from senior high school or those with similar study ability can directly apply to register in the US university after the entrance examination help alone by CIT. They can get the Bachelor's Degree of Fort Hays State University after graduation and are therefore called Independently Recruited Students. Similar to American educational system, CIB will recruits students both in spring and in the fall.
