Internship Information

1. Internship Goals
At the completion of internship, the student should be familiar with the hospital working system, medical care convention, medical ethics maintenance, whole-hearted establishment of the ideologies which serves the patients, and then the consolidation, enhancement and utilization of the good elementary theory, elementary knowledge and basic skills. Pondering over and devising a question, analysis, self-dependence to solve the clinical problems, individual diagnosis of common diseases, familiarance with the application of first aid and its application procedure and a general procession of the complex illness as well as the acute diseases, in order to become a qualified medical practitioner.

2. Internship Requirements

1) The students must follow the plan of instructive stipulation while being an intern, complete the practice tasks and upon completion of the internship; participation in the graduation exam.

2) Students while doing their internship need to observe and follow the rules, regulations and hospital daily schedule.

3) Students are required to treat the patients just like their own family members, not allowed to increase the patient's pain and rehabilitate the patients with the application of modern technology where is not necessary.

4) Upraise rigorous scientific attitude, fulfill exactly the convention of medical technology, behave industriously, and meticulous usage of scientific and public equipments.

6) Set up good medical ethics and not to use the way of deception in order to get some benefits.

7) While being an intern he/she need to be present in his/her respective ward half an hour ahead of the actual time and continue regular inspection of the patients, report and reply the respective concerned doctors queries; upon completion of usual inspection. Record senior respective doctor's opinion of the ward's inspection. He/she must be on the scheduled night duties with superior doctors.

8) Interns don't keep the right of writing a prescription. The prescriptions, leave applications, various sorts of lab-tests reports, death proof etc. must be verified from the concerned doctors. The above specified items can only be effective after having the signatures and stamps of concerned doctors. If an intern goes through the above formalities arbitrarily without the senior doctor's guidance and agreement, he/she will be assumed as violator of regulations.

9) If the intern commits some mistakes like breakage of medical equipments or violation of the hospital's rules and regulations which would consequate in serious situations, he/she should report immediately to the concerned department so that further action could be taken according to the severity of the respective situation.

10) Practice hospitals can't be changed arbitrarily and the internship order need to be followed strictly as per planned schedule. Other wise the concerned intern will have to take all the responsibility and the loss it might cause by him/herself.

11) Upon completion of the internship, the internship handbook should be submitted at ICEC teaching office which will be filed along with the other documents of the respective student, failure to do so will consequate in inability of the student to graduate.

3. Leave Regulation

During internship, students should attend the whole internship necessarily except in case of serious illness or important personal affairs. For the conditions mentioned above, students need to submit an application to ICEC Administration office, and fulfill the leave formalities after getting permission from the concerned teacher. Student must present the written application to the respective teacher in hospital in order to keep a formal record. ICEC will assume the students as playing truancy who would remain absent from internship.

The practical procedures are supposed to be done by interns in various departments in one hospital or two. If the students attend classes less than two third of the whole curriculum in one department, they will be arrange to re-practice in the respective department and they have to pay the fees for the re-practice. If the students don't submit application for the re-practice in order to compensate the missed classes, they will not be considered as graduates as they have not completed their study span.

Fee Structure

Tuition
22000 RMB per academic year (From the 1st year to 5th year)

Lodging Fee
Single room: (Calculated by semester) 40 RMB per day per student;
Double room: 20 RMB per day per student;
Three-person room: 15 RMB per day per students

Deposit Fees

Deposit security fee for items in room: 600 RMB for each room, and student will get the money back if no item is destroyed before the student leave;

Deposit security fee for key card in each room: 50 RMB for each room per key card, and student will get the money back before the student leave if the key card hasn't been damaged.

Note
The fees of visa, physical examination, insurance, teaching materials, experiment and internship will be paid according to the actual situation. In general, complementary insurance fee is RMB 600 per year.

Entry Requirements

Be good in condition.
With an educational background equal to high school graduation in China or have passed Grade Twelve (10+2)/FSc./A Level/WAEC or equivalent.

5. One passport-sized photo
