Important Reminding Before Doing Application Online

Please make sure you have well prepared scan or photo copies of the following required documents and be aware of the alternative ways to pay for application fee.

Application Fee

PLEASE BE REMINDED THAT YOUR APPLICATION WON’T BE PROCESSED BY THE SCHOOL UNLESS THE APPLICATION FEE IS PAID. YOU WILL GET THE CONFIRMATION LETTER FROM BOTH THE CUCAS APPLICATION SYSTEM AND THE SCHOOL UPON YOUR PAYMENT ARRIVES.

CUCAS offers four kinds of payment methods, and you would find your payment details when you doing application online.

1. PayPal: Payments made through Paypal are safe, easy and convenient. If you have used Paypal in the past, please click the PayPal button on the webpage of "Make Payment" and follow the directions.

2. Bank Transfer (T/T) Overseas: Applicants overseas can use bank transfer to pay the application fee in US Dollars.

3. Bank Transfer (T/T) in China: Applicants in China can use a direct bank transfer to pay the application fee in RMB.

4. Western Union: CUCAS recommends applicants who are inconvient with T/T or PayPal payments use Western Union (especially African applicants).

Qualifications for Application

Foreigners who are over age of 18, in good health condition, of good virtue, and willing to abide by the law of Chinese Government and the regulations of BFU with respecting Chinese culture and meeting the requirements below, can apply directly to the international students office .

1. Undergraduates and Pre-University Students
(a senior high school graduate or with equivalent schooling)

(1) One passport-sized photo
(2) Certificate of senior high school and the results of exams and copy of them.
(3) Application letter (over 500 Chinese characters).
(4) Photocopy of certificate of HSK Band Six or above (preparatory students are excluded).
(5) Photocopy of the passport of the applicant (the page with photograph).
(6) Attend the interview

2. Master’s Degree Program taught in Chinese

(1) One passport-sized photo
(2) Applicant’s highest academic diploma or certificate of university education and its copy.
(3) Application letter (over 800 Chinese characters).
(4) Photocopy of certificate of HSK Band Six or above.
(5) Two reference letters from 2 association professors or experts of related fields and copies of them.
(6) Photocopy of the passport (the page with photograph).
(7) Attend the interview

3. Master’s Degree Program taught in English

(1) One passport-sized photo
(2) Applicant’s highest academic diploma or certificate of university education and its copy.
(3) Application letter (over 800 Chinese characters).
(4) Study/research plan
(5) Two reference letters from 2 association professors or experts of related fields and copies of them.
(6) Photocopy of the passport (the page with photograph).
(7) CV
(8) Language Certificates: a good command of English, IELTS 6.0, Cambridge Advanced Level of above, or TOEFL 79 internet based, is required

4. Ph.D. Degree Program

(1) One passport-sized photo
(2) Copy of master's degree diploma or certificate
(3) Application letter (over 800 Chinese characters).
(4) Photocopy of certificate of HSK Band Six or above.
(5) Two reference letters from 2 association professors or experts of related fields and copies of them.
(6) Photocopy of the passport (the page with photograph).
(7) Attend the interview

5. Chinese Language Training Students

(1) One passport-sized photo
(2) Photocopy of the passport (the page with photograph).
(3) Notarized guarantee of the guardians for those who are under the age of 18.

Application Deadline

Undergraduates, Master’s Degree, and Ph.D. Students
Students should apply during March 1st to June 15th.

Chinese Language Training Students and Visiting Students
Time for registration: May 1st to August 31st and November 1st to March 1st
