This program is designed to turn out Chinese language talents with basic Chinese literature knowledge and language technics and are capable of appreciating Chinese literature as well as have strong ability of speaking and writing.
Major Course: Ancient Chinese, Modern Chinese, Introduction to Linguistics, Contemporary Literature History of China, Contemporary Chinese Literature, History of classical Chinese Literature, World Literature, Introduction to Literature, Fundamental Course of Composition
Top↑Entry Requirements
- Applicant should be a senior high school graduate or with equivalent schooling in the age bracket of 18-50,with an HSK certificate (level 3 or above).
- Those who have basic knowledge of Chinese language without any HSK certificate should take the HSK test at BLCU. Only qualified students can be admitted as B.A. students. Those who fail the test shall be enrolled as language students to study in a foundation class for half a year. After they finish the half year of study and pass HSK Level 3, they can further their studies as B.A. students. HSK test applicants need to submit three passport photos along with other required documents. The test fee is RMB 250.

- Certificate of HSK
For applicants of Chinese Language major and Chinese Language and Culture major:Level 3 or above.
For those applying to take classes with Chinese students: HSK Level 6 or above
- Photocopy of valid passport
With name, passport number & expiration date, and photo included
- Passport photo
A recent passport-sized photo of the applicant
- Certificate/diploma of highest education
Graduation certificate in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization.
- Academic transcript of highest education
Original transcript of academic record.
- Valid identity document of the applicant's emergency contact person
A photocopy of the ID of the emergency contact (can be a license, official ID of Chinese citizen or foreigner).
- Letter of recommendation
Reference letter from applicants' former teacher.
