CUP-HWU Msc Reservoir Management Programme

Top↑Program Description

The Ministry of Education approved our university of carry out this joint programme with Heriot-Watt University in 2004. The whole programme is carried out and conducted in English.

Courses

There are three parts of this programme: degree courses learning, Field Development Project and Research Project Paper; The 8 required degree courses include Petroleum Geosciences, Formation Evaluation, Reservoir Engineering, Well Test Analysis, Reservoir Simulation, Production Technology, Drilling Engineering and Project Economics.

Duration

This program only accepts 30 students, and the length of schooling is 1.5 year, first half year for English learning and the other year for professional study. Students will graduate with full completion of the three parts or the programme and obtain Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering awarded by Heriot-Watt University. The diploma and certificate are internationally recognized and authorized.

Entrance and Fees

Applicants should go to Qingdao Campus Petrolium Engineering College, China University of Petrolumn (Huadong) for applying this program (or mailing after contacting with the university) with diploma certificate and graduation certificate. Pay application fee RMB 200 and get application form both in Chinese and English. After approved by the Heriot-Watt University, you could come to register with admission letter.

You should pay total tuition fee RMB 97500 one-time, teaching materials fee RMB 1500, accommodation fee RMB 9000/year/person (for more than one year, charge 30 RMB/day)

Graduation and Certifiation

HWU set and conduct all examinations and assess the Projects. Learners that have completed the modules will be awarded MSc in Petroleum Engineering of HWU. Learners that failed to complete hte modules of dropped out shall be allowed in their student status in the nexzt 18-month program session. During the session, the learners could get back to the unfinished modules. Once completed, the learners shall be awarded the degree certificate.

Applicants from domestic and overseas should have a Bachelor Degree and fluent English.

1. Photocopy of valid passport
   With name, passport number & expiration date, and photo included
2. Passport photo
   A recent passport-sized photo of the applicant
3. Undergraduate school transcript
4. Bachelor's degree diploma
   Graduation certificate in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization.
5. English proficiency test certificate
   For example, IELTS or TOEFL, only for applicant whose native language is not English.
6. Two letters of recommendation
   From professor or associate professor or equivalents
7. Resume
   Written in Chinese or in English
