As one of the "211" Project key universities directly under the Ministry of Education, the Communication University of China (CUC) has trained, since it was founded over 50 years ago, numerous high-leveled personnel for the Chinese media industry, and made a significant contribution to the nation's media business and economy. Therefore, the CUC has been honored as a "cradle of the nation's broadcasting and television talents" and "a university noted in information and communication field in China".
 
The torch light of history will illuminate the future. Our school will conform to the educational concept - "Teachers and students being the base; learning the supremacy; innovation the soul; and, development the essence". The school will also conform to a development strategy - "Strengthen the CUC with a higher quality, better graduates, more advanced research projects and more distinguished features". The CUC will bear an educational philosophy in mind - "The school is both a classroom and a media stage", to train personnel of high quality. Taking its root in broadcasting and television industries and media world, the CUC will face the whole society and run it in a very openly way. The goal of the school is to try best to walk into the rank of world top media universities by the year of 2020.
