- There are some factors you must consider when making your preparations to leave for JCI:
- If you have all the information you need in good time, you are more likely to be prepared and less likely to experience problems and delays.
- It can take a long time to obtain all documentation required. An early start is therefore recommended.
- You should not, however, make final arrangements for your journey to JCI until you have met all entry requirements, received an offer of a place to study at JingDeZhen Ceremic Institute, and you have all funding arrangements agreed.
2) Entry Clearance
You do need to have a visa to travel to China.However,to be given permission to enter and stay in China, you must be able to show evidence upon arrival at the airport, ferry port or any other ports of entry that:
- You have been accepted for a course of study at JingDeZhen Ceremic Institute which meets the immigration requirements for study.
- You are able to meet the costs of your course and accommodation and maintenance of yourself .
- As a student seeking entry clearance, you will be required to produce documents showing that you satisfy the immigration rules for students.You will need:
- The completed JW202(JW201,for scholarship owner) forms;
- Your passport;
- 6 recent sized passport photographs;
- The fee(in local currency-this is non-refundable);

- As you are going to take a course in China, it is better for you to have basic Chinese ability, or you can choose to learn it while you are studying in JCI as well.
3) What to pack
Make sure you carry all travel documents, letters from the University and money in your hand luggage. You should bring? with you enough money for the first two weeks in cash for the emergent use.
You should bring some clothes and hardwearing shoes with you to meet the needs of different seasons, or you can purchase some more here, where the choice may be wider and the cost lower.
Most students who are away from home find it helpful to have some familiar things to look at or touch , to help them get over the initial pain of separation from family and friends. Don’t forget to pack some photographs which you can show your new friends.
