Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) is a new international university jointly founded by Xi’an Jiaotong University and the University of Liverpool in a way of strong-strong cooperation. As an independent Sino-Foreign cooperative university, it captures the essence of both prestigious parent universities and is the first and only university of its kind approved by the Ministry of Education in China. The University offers undergraduate degree programmes in the fields of science, engineering and management, and awards the globally recognised Bachelor’s degrees of the University of Liverpool.

The University of Liverpool

The University of Liverpool was founded in 1881 and has a current population of over 19,000 registered students. It is a member of the Russell Group, which consists of the 20 leading research universities in the UK. The Departments of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering & Electronics and Mathematical Science, and the Management School were all rated at the top level of 5 in the last Research Assessment Exercise. The university has eight Nobel Laureates in her history, including Professor Ronald Ross who was the first Nobel Laureate in the UK.
