SZU has very good cultural and sports facilities like the Performance Center, Sports Center, Student Activity Center, Cultural Corridor, Art Village, Stone Drama Center, Speech Halls and Lecture Halls and so on.

Various lectures of all fields have contributed to the eternal attraction of this "Lichee Garden". Scholars and experts from both in and outside of the university have been invited to give lectures or speeches to present all schools of thoughts and ideas to our students and to introduce the most up-to-date academic information. Student Organizations, the Student’s Union and other various student societies have organized vivid and colorful cultural and entertaining activities, academic programs such as Culture and Art Festival, Reading Festival, Debating Contest, Sports Festival and so on which consist the main part of the Student Society Month to offer more chances and great platforms for students to show their talents from plural perspectives.

Every summer or winter vacation, the student societies will organize field trips to all business and industries to help students better understand the society and the people of all trades, and gain more practical social experiences. The Volunteer Association of SZU, founded in 1996, has become a colorful feature of our campus culture.

SZU teams have also won remarkable achievements in all kinds of university student competitions nation wide. Good news has been reported back continuously from national culture programs and sports games. The play A Patch of Mangrove Forest Outside of the Window, directed and acted by students from SZU has won "Cao Yu Drama Award" in the 6th China Drama Festival and also won the 8th National "Five Ones Project" award.
