On the evening of May 20, 2009 Guangzhou Foreign Students Singing Competition was held in Academic Hall of North Campus of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS).  
 
The competition is hosted by Foreign Affairs Division of Guangdong Education Department and Guangdong Foreign Student Affairs Committee, and undertaken by Foreign Student Education College of GDUFS. All together, 11 universities attend the competition, namely, Sun Yat-sen University, South China University of Technology, South China Agricultural University, Jinan University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, Southern Medical University, Guangzhou University, Guangdong University of Technology and Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University. After strict screening, 22 performances are short-listed for the finale. With fierce competition, Wu Shisheng, a Vietnam student in our university, won the second prize.  In addition, Fan Hongfei, a teacher from our university, was invited to give an extra performance. 

In all, the competition gives one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes and four encouraging prizes.
