The International Youth University (IYU), sponsored by the All-ChinaYouthCenter for International Exchange in 1993. The IYU has been formally approved by the State Educational Committee of China to recruit foreign students to study in China. It is an authorized provider of the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) supervised by the Chinese government in 1996.

The IYU is equipped with a strong and professional faculty especially in the field of Chinese language teaching, consisting of both senior teachers with rich experience and young teachers with vigorous creativity. Since its establishment, the university has been insisting to the principle of bring in leading educational conception and methodologies from overseas countries and connecting to the international educational environment. Owing to its advanced facilities, rich contents and pleasant living condition, the university attracts students, scholars and entrepreneurs from over 20 countries such as Japan, Korean, U.S.A, France, Canada, UK, Denmark, Germany, Indonesia and etc. to come for studying and exchange programs.

Beijing International Youth University is approved by the National Education Commission to enroll overseas students to study in China. It is also one of the exam test centers for Chinese Language Proficiency Test (HSK), which is approved by China National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (NOCFL).

IYU School, affiliated with International Youth University, was set up in March, 2001. It aims at preparing overseas students to enter famous universities in China. So far there are almost 200 graduates from IYU who used to study and are studying in the famous universities such as Peiking University and Tsinghua University. The students’ majors involve law, journalism, Chinese, international relations, architecture, economy, computer and so on.

Brief Introduction of the Mandarin Training Branch

The Mandarin Training Branch of Beijing International Youth Institute offers a wide range of programmes for International students Chinese language courses at various levels, including Basic Mandarin, Practical Mandarin and Business Mandarin, In addition to specialist courses in Chinese Calligraphy, Music, Gongfu, and Cuisine are popular high quality programmes. The Branch has an excellent learning environment and modern facilities, with professional faculty that specializes in language tutorial, Trade and Culture programmes for International students. Students from over 20 countries attend the institute on an annual basis. It is the best choice for International students who aim at learning Chinese and working in China , as well as short-term visiting students and groups. Thousands of International students graduated from the Institute with advanced language ability and abundant knowledge about Chinese culture, life, economics and trade, etc. After graduation, they were poised to become the main forces of culture and trade communication between China and their countries.

The Mandarin Training Branch of Beijing International Youth Institute specializes in promotion, inquiry, enrolment abroad and student management domestically. It consists of the Institute Office, the Overseas Student Office (in charge of recruiting), the Academic & Teaching Management Department, and the Student Management Department.

Preparatory Program introduces the preparatory programs of foreign universities and part of the undergraduate courses of those universities into China. Students who study in the Preparatory Program will study in those foreign universities directly after 6 or 12 months’ study in IYU.  IYU also provides university preparatory courses for foreign students in China. They can study in Chinese universities directly after 6 or 12 months’ study in IYU.
