The college of sciences consists of six academic units, including departments of Informatics and Calculation, Applied Mathematics, Project Mathematics, Fundamental Computer Education, Systemic Science and Project, and Applied Mechanics.
College of Physical Education is responsible for all kinds of physical work including public physical education, physical research, sports training, and the implementation of Student physical healthy standard. At the same time, this school is composed with a group of young teachers with high academic levels and is also reasonable structured for the sake of improving teaching quality.
The college of Metallurgy and Energy originated from Beiyang University of the old China. In 1959 in the course of nationwide readjustment of departments, the Department of Mining Industry of the present Tianjin University (originally Beiyang University ) was merged into our university and has grown into the college of today with the longest history among all the colleges of Hebei Polytechnic University .
Established in 1958, College of Mechanical Engineering has a history of 45 year , the same age as the University. It has now developed into an excellent group of high comprehensive strength after generations of teachers and students' endeavor. There are four undergraduate specialties including mechanical design, manufacturing and automation, industrial design, industrial engineering and packaging engineering and a specialized subject specialty: mechanical electronics engineering. The college is qualified for the master degrees awarding in two specialties: mechanical design and theory, mechanical manufacturing and automation.
There are there sections in the college: the Department of Inorganic Nonmetallic Materials, the Teaching Department of Inorganic Chemistry and the Central Laboratory, and there are 34 people in the College, of which 8 are professor, 1 is senior engineer, 6 are associate professor and 3 are senior laboratory assistant.

We cover a wide range of specialist areas including biochemistry, microbiology, physiology and so on.
The speciality of artistic design was a key subject of former Hebei Light Industry School , and it was established in 1959. It has trained about 2000 talents on specialities of artistic design and painting for Hebei Province and North China . Hebei Light Industry School was incorporated into Hebei Polytechnic University in Mar. 2000, and the College of Arts was established in June 2004.
Civil Engineering is a subject composed of teaching and research sections of Civil Engineering, Projects Management and Engineering Mechanics, Center of Earthquake Engineering and Experiment Center . Being one pillar subject in Hebei Polytechnic University , the civil engineering was set in 1984, known as the Department of Architecture.
The department can foster superior engineers in the fields of power drive system, automatic control system, intelligent control system and other automatic technology application.
Established in 2000, the College of Continuing Education of Hebei Polytechnic University is in charge of all kinds of adult education at various levels and all the students' self-study examinations of the university.
The College of Economics and Management was established in 1985. It has currently 64 faculty and staff members and 2193 students including undergraduates and graduates.
Established in July 2004, the College of Foreign Languages (the former Foreign Language Department founded in January 1997) has a highly qualified staff including 5 professors, 13 associate professors, one senior lab technician and 2 senior political workers.
Compared with the refulgent history and solid foundation of other specialties, law specialty and social work specialty are juniors. But the offering of these two specialties fills up the blank of the discipline construction and widens the domain of the university.
The Network Measuring Control Technique The subject is undertaken by the group of electronics information subject in our school, including the specialty as electronics information engineering, electronics information science and technology, electronics science and technology (the direction of photoelectron) and communication engineering and so on.
The college of Resources and Environment can be dated back to the earlier Mining department in Hebei Polytechnic University. In 1959 the Mining and Metallurgy department of Tianjin University was merged into it. Since the establishment of it, we have always adhered to the principles of "keeping a foothold in Hebei and turn towards the whole country" and have brought the courses into full play, which have done a great contribution to the talents' cultivation, scientific research, and intellectual supports and so on.
