Important Reminding Before Doing Application Online
Please make sure you have well prepared scan or photo copies of the following required documents and be aware of the alternative ways to pay for application fee.

Application Fee
PLEASE BE REMINDED THAT YOUR APPLICATION WON’T BE PROCESSED BY THE SCHOOL UNLESS THE APPLICATION FEE IS PAID. YOU WILL GET THE CONFIRMATION LETTER FROM BOTH THE CHIWEST APPLICATION SYSTEM AND THE SCHOOL UPON YOUR PAYMENT ARRIVES.

CHIWEST offers four kinds of payment methods, and you would find your payment details when you doing application online.

1. PayPal: Payments made through Paypal are safe, easy and convenient. If you have used Paypal in the past, please click the PayPal button on the webpage of "Make Payment" and follow the directions.

2. Bank Transfer (T/T) Overseas: Applicants overseas can use bank transfer to pay the application fee in US Dollars.

3. Bank Transfer (T/T) in China: Applicants in China can use a direct bank transfer to pay the application fee in RMB.

4. Western Union: CHIWEST recommends applicants who are inconvient with T/T or PayPal payments use Western Union (especially African applicants).

Application Materials
Make sure that you have prepared for the following documents before starting online application. You will be asked to upload attachments when applying.

1. Chinese Language Program Candidates:
(1) Clear photocopies of valid passport (if applicable): photo page and extension/ remark/ amendment pages (if any).
(2) Passport photo

2. Bachelor Candidates:
(1) Graduation Certificate of a senior middle school or equivalent (photocopies).
(2) Academic transcript, containing all performances.
(3) Study plan, illustrating the motives and schedule of study.
(4) HSK Level 6 (or higher) certificate (photocopy).
(5) Clear photocopies of valid passport (if applicable): photo page and extension/ remark/ amendment pages (if any).
(6) Passport photo

3. Master or Doctor Candidates:
(1) A Bachelor's/Master's degree certificate or equivalent (photocopies).
(2) Academic transcript, containing all performances.
(3) List of academic/research productions, given in details, if any.
(4) Study plan, illustrating the motives and schedule of study.
(5) At least two letters of recommendation, in which at least one should be from an associate professor or above.
(6) HSK Level 6 (or higher) certificate (photocopy).
(7) Clear photocopies of valid passport (if applicable): photo page and extension/ remark/ amendment pages (if any).
(8) Passport photo

Entrance Qualifications

1. Willing to obey the laws and policies of the Chinese government and regulations of Southwest University for Nationalities, respect Chinese people's customs and habits, Cultivate the friendship of all nations.

2. Language program (including vocational classes): Applicants age 16 to 65, with a good health, are qualified to apply for study.

3. BA (General Scholar) Program: Applicants should have the academic record and diploma equivalent to a Chinese high school graduate.

4. MA Program: Students should possess a Bachelor's Degree.

Application Deadline

The general scholar, undergraduate and postgraduate who want to begin their study in autumn, September, should apply before the end of June each year.

And those who want to begin studying in spring, March, should apply before the end of December each year.
